SNAAP Pulse

SNAAP Pulse is an invitation-only survey of arts and design alumni offering a unique opportunity to amplify the voices of creative communities.

Participants are periodically invited to share their experiences and perspectives on topics that matter to creative workers and the broader creative economy. By completing brief online surveys, members not only contribute valuable insights, they also earn rewards. SNAAP defines arts alumni” as individuals with a postsecondary credential in fields such as art, design, architecture, media arts, film, music, theater, dance, or creative writing.

The data collected from SNAAP Pulse is used to help colleges and universities, policymakers, and researchers better understand the educational experiences, careers, and livelihoods of arts alumni. These insights support the development of stronger arts programs, smarter policies, and greater public recognition of artists and creative workers.

What is SNAAP?

Arts + Design Alumni Research (A+DAR), D.B.A. Strategic National Arts Alumni Project (SNAAP), is a 501(c)(3) organization governed by a national board of directors. SNAAP’s mission is to gather, analyze and report on survey data from graduates of arts and design schools and colleges to understand the professional success, educational satisfaction, and personal fulfillment of arts alumni. SNAAP serves the dual purpose of providing valuable data to colleges and universities at the institutional level, while also offering the most comprehensive national survey data on postsecondary arts education, informing policymakers, administrators, researchers, journalists, and other key stakeholders.

Launched in 2008, SNAAP’s national online survey was created to meet the growing demand for reliable data on alumni outcomes. Since then, SNAAP has partnered with over 400 colleges, universities, and conservatories across 49 states, the District of Columbia, and four Canadian provinces, gathering insights from over 300,000 arts alumni about their careers, education, and personal fulfillment. Today, SNAAP conducts its large-scale national survey every five years, offering an unmatched view into the lives and impact of arts graduates.
